| I went to a Chevy dealership to go look at the new Camaro, and the salesman told me they were all spoken for until next year! If they are turning people away because they aren't sure when they're going to get more, I don't know how the American car companies can have so much trouble. Seems like they should just be making more of their top-selling cars and cutting back on the losers. |

| The CA budget difficulties finally made themselves evident to my life.
I was driving up I-280 N going back to work after meeting a friend for lunch, and there was medium-sized green step ladder in the 2nd lane. Everyone was swerving around it, so I made a mental note that once I got to work I'd call the CHP and report it.
I call 1-800-TELL-CHP which is the non-emergency number for the California Highway Patrol (since there was no real *emergency* at hand), and the dispatcher asked me where I was. I told her Santa Clara County, and then I got put on hold. I waited for 15 minutes before someone actually picked up my call and asked me what I was trying to report. I said I wanted to report a road hazard on 280, and she said, "Are you calling about the ladder?" "Yes." "We've already dispatched officers to go move it. Thanks for calling."
Maybe they just don't care about the non-emergencies.

| I have a slew of $0.39 stamps that I got my freshman or sophomore year of college. I'm not sure what to do with them, because the post office doesn't exactly sell $0.05 stamps to make mine useful again. I think they might sell 1 or 2 cent stamps, but then I'd need 5 extras in order to make a letter mailable again. It just seems weird to add 5 extra stamps on the letter to make my $0.39 stamp useful again. On the other hand, I have a lot of Forever Stamps, but part of me feels like I shouldn't use those up until I've managed to get rid of all of my $0.39 stamps first.
